Kindness and belonging. Every day.

David believed everything is possible.

He put his whole self into what he cared about. As a board member for the Ballard Food Bank he inspired others (challenged others!) to care as much as he did and to act on that caring. He was extremely mission-focused! He always brought it back to the Food Bank’s mission of bringing food and hope to our neighbors because there can be enough for everyone.

David challenged everyone to be bold and to think big.

Now, as Ballard Food Bank builds its new home, twice its current size, with the goal of being a beacon of hope, a place for basic needs and belonging for everyone in the community, we know David would be thrilled.

We know he would embrace, with his whole heart, the concept of a café where EVERYONE is welcome. Where EVERYONE, no matter who they are, is welcome in a space designed to nourish body and soul.

We also know he would ask you to be a part of making it happen. He would be bold and ask you to give what you can in support of this vision. We’re reaching out to you, David’s community, to raise $200,000 to build a café in Ballard Food Bank’s new home and name it in his honor.

He can’t be here to ask you today, so we’re asking for him. Will you give what you can? Will you help us create a café in honor of David?
