The Ballard Food Bank + Redfin community believes in neighbors helping neighbors.
Redfin Rise strives to give back to our communities by taking part in philanthropic causes and adding social value where we can offer our expertise. We do this through a variety of initiatives including: building partnerships and supporting nonprofit organizations; team member engagement opportunities; diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives; and sharing vital information and resources to help underserved individuals and families.
One of the ways Redfin is supporting Ballard Food Bank's efforts is with a Giving Campaign.
Ballard Food Bank's mission is to bring food and hope to our neighbors because there can be enough for everyone. To achieve our mission, we provide access to nutritious foods and services that support self-sufficiency and we advocate for food equity and justice.
With the support of our community, we are providing healthy meals to 6,000+ households a month. This is more than we were serving before the pandemic began.
We currently provide food in these ways: via our new grocery store food bank; our home delivery program; our Weekend Food for Kids program; and no-cook options available for folks who are unstably housed.
Food is just the first step in our work addressing the underlying issues our clients face. Our Community Resource Hub combines emergency financial assistance with a curated network of partner agencies available on-site to more holistically improve the lives of our neighbors in one place. By partnering with high-quality agencies already doing great work in our community, and who are experts in other service areas, we can help clients access resources in a location they already visit regularly and in a familiar, trusted, and safe environment.
